Natural Immunity Boosters to fight with COVID-19

Today, I want to discuss how you feel about Coronavirus and what you do to fight with it. Also,  do you take anything as a preventive measure to stay away from Coronavirus!

For me, I am really worried about Coronavirus and the negative effect that it has made not only to our lives but to our country and to our whole world! I am sure you guys are also thinking about Coronavirus and why did it come or how it came, etc. But actually, it is not the time to think about why it came or how it came or from where it came! It is actually the time to get up and be ready to fight with Coronavirus. I am sure, you guys are taking all the precautions like wearing a mask, washing hands, using sanitizers, maintaining social distance, and staying at home. All these things are very important to include in your routine life!

Additionally, we should also take care of our immunity. During this time, when Coronavirus is getting spread day by day, we all should take great care of our health and immunity. We should prevent ourselves from any kind of infection (bacterial or viral). For this, it is important to take some immunity boosters. So, today I will discuss some of the natural immunity boosters which I have incorporated in my daily routine. Frankly speaking, in order to boost immunity, I always prefer natural ingredients or homemade recipes. Let’s talk about what are those natural energy boosters or some recipes which I use regularly for my family’s health and safety:

  • Chyawanprash:

This is an age-old recipe to boost immunity. Since my childhood, we always had one Chyawanprash box at home during winters and we used to take it daily with milk. I am sure most of you might be aware of this name - Chyawanprash. In this time of the pandemic, we should regularly take at least one to two teaspoons of Chyawanprash of any brand along with warm/lukewarm milk. 

The combination of Chyawanprash and milk is very important as Chyawanprash is made up of natural ingredients especially, Indian gooseberry (amla) which is known to be the richest source of vitamin C or antioxidants. It helps to boost immunity naturally. And, milk helps in the absorption of natural ingredients in the body and gives energy.

  • Turmeric:


This is the most important and one of my most favorite ingredients in the list of natural medicines. This is such a powerful ingredient that thousands of researches have been already conducted and is being conducted all over the world. I will surely discuss with you this ingredient someday and will share its benefits and several ways it can be used in our daily lives. Here, in the case of Coronavirus, turmeric can be used mixing with milk or simply taking with lukewarm water. It is a very helpful ingredient to prevent any kind of cough or cold. Turmeric is also helpful to kill any bacteria or virus and that way it helps prevent any infectious disease. This is the reason I have included turmeric on my list. I regularly put in some turmeric (about ½ a teaspoon) while boiling milk and take a glass of warm milk every day.

  • Cinnamon:


Cinnamon sticks or cinnamon powder both can be used to increase immunity. This is another natural ingredient like turmeric direct from our kitchen which is very helpful to boost immunity and prevent any kind of infection. You can add a pinch of cinnamon powder while boiling milk or put a small stick in your milk while boiling it and then take it off before pouring milk into the glass. You will definitely love this cinnamon milk.

  • Nuts eg. Almonds & dates:


Coming to our next ingredient in the list, nuts. Although you can use any nuts of your choice as it boosts energy due to the reason they are high in protein. But my favorites, especially for boosting immunity, are almonds and dates. They are super powerful ingredients. Taking almonds and dates in the morning will not only keep you energetic the whole day, but they will also help you fight with infection by increasing your internal immunity. I prefer to have almonds and dates to be soaked overnight and then grind them in a mixer-grinder and add them in milk. Boil this mixture of milk and nuts and drink it. This is a super amazing and super tasty recipe. You must try it! We have it every day in the morning. This is such a powerful recipe that gives energy for the whole day.

  • Warm water:

Warm or lukewarm water is another simple but very important ingredient of this list. This simple ingredient can flush out any unwanted particle from the body and helps boost immunity. Warm/lukewarm water can help to detoxify the body and this way helps improve our immunity. I personally recommend this to everyone. Also, I would try to discuss this ingredient separately some other day and would share its properties and how it can be so beneficial in our daily lives. In this time of Corona fight, we must try to take warm/lukewarm water in the morning and at any time during the day as frequently as possible. You can also add a pinch of black salt or rock salt in your glass while drinking lukewarm water. So, sip this water throughout the day.

  • Citrus fruits and the fruits which are rich in antioxidants e.g. Oranges, grapes, watermelon, amla, etc.:

Fruits… we all know about its benefits. I would only say that we should try eating seasonal fruits and especially to boost immunity, fruits that are rich in vitamin c and have plenty of antioxidants are recommended. These kinds of fruits are known to boost immunity.

  • Milk:


Do you know the power milk! I really recommend that we should take a glass of lukewarm milk regularly and try to feel its amazing taste, power, and health benefits. Yes, a glass of milk is so powerful that it not only boosts energy level, it helps increase immunity. This is the reason our parents used to force us to drink milk. In my childhood, I was not aware of its benefits and never admired it. But now, I really admire this simply amazing natural ingredient. Also, it is a very important part of some of the recipes that we discussed earlier like turmeric milk, almond-dates milk, cinnamon milk, and milk with Chyawanprash.
